A spot of green

Tinkered a little on Photoshop, and voila!...I like the look of this one.

Light at the other end...

So, justice is far from us
And righteousness does not reach us
We look for light, but all is darkness
For brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.

Another random sketch...

Ruddy

The dancer in his full attire, the colour of the costume and the designs painted on his face have a lot of significance.
Painting a dancers face is a meticulous task. Every line, every design has its own significance. The whole task goes on for about 2 hours.

Piscatorial pursuits...

Fisherman working their way across a rickety old pier, ferrying the last catch for the day.

Speeding prankster...

This lil fellow looked like he was running away from a crime scene of his own making.

This was a black and white photograph, and the moment I saw it, I couldn't resist wanting to transform it into a sketch.

The decrepit survivor..

The decrepit survivor from a once prosperous fleet; lying withered after countless expeditions into the sea.

This kid was doing cartwheels on the beach. Without much effort, I was able to convince him to pose for me.

I've no idea what the flower is called, but it looked so pretty that I just had to shoot it.

The Sunset

Sunset

Sunsets...especially the ones viewed from a beach have a serene disposition. Standing on a beach, people completely enjoy being insolated, they never complain.

This is no one in particular. Just another free hand sketch. Posted by Hello

This is one of Ravi Verma's paintings. I've made some changes to the original, but then I'm not Ravi Verma, just an small time sketcher.

The compression software on the site is distorting the image. Would advise you to click on the image and open in a new window. Posted by Hello

I just love horses. I am completely fascinated by these strong and noble creatures. A horse in full gallop is much like poetry in motion.  Posted by Hello

Here is a photo of the planet Venus, adorning the crescent of the Moon. This photo was taken at about 19:30 hours, using a Canon A-70 digital camera. This spectacle is said to occur once every 116 years. I feel lucky that I could view this heavenly sight.

This is what Jeremiah Horrocks, the first person to view this had to say :

Oh! then farewell, thou beauteous queen!
Thy sway may soften natures yet untamed,
Whose breasts, bereft of the native fury,
Then shall learn the milder virtues.
We, with anxious mind, follow thy latest footsteps here,
And far as thought can carry us;
My labours now bedeck the monument for future times
Which thou at parting left us. Thy return
Posterity shall witness; years must roll away,
But then at length the splendid sight
Again shall greet our distant children's eyes.

I like this picture of Buddha. Its a cave painting. I'm amazed at the quality of this peice of art. It still retains that graceful look and not even time has been able to diminish its beautiful colours. Posted by Hello
