The road ahead...

This is a picture of the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail in Connecticut.

Come to think of it, I've spent the last two months travelling and constantly being on the road. My journeys have taken me from the hills of Palani and Kodaikanal to the picturesque valleys of Connecticut, the glitzy streets of New York, the Benjamin Franklin parkway where Rocky ran :)) and the boulevards of D.C. I must admit that I've not travelled this long and this far, in so short a time.

So, this picture in essence serves to remind me of my journeys to new and distant lands; journeys to newer stages in life, of mine and those connected to me. A journey that I wish never ends...
By the river at dusk...

This is the Farmington River at dusk. The waters were icy cold, so I didn't venture too close. But the closer you get, you realise that there's a calming gentle melody that every flowing river lends, to an eager ear.
Sunset above Tehran

While flying over the skies of Teheran, at 37,000 feet, I saw the colours that the setting sun was lending to the night landscape. I just had to take this picture.
Berry Berry Good...

These are wild berries that were growing in the yard. They looked good and I took quite a few pictures.

But after my friend, a legendary berry specialist of wide repute asked: "you didn't taste them??"...I now wish I had. Maybe I should have, right? :-P

A glimmer of pine...

A slight hint of pine is all I wanted in this shot. But I think it looks ok the way it is.

We were driving along the hilly roads that snaked between Palani and Kodai. Thats when we saw these pine trees along the hillside reaching out to the blue expanse. Thought I'd take a shot that looked a lil' different.

Sunset on the way to Kodai

The drive to Kodaikanal was very good. I took this shot along the ghat section on the way to Kodai.

Palm Leaf

This is a photo that I had taken a few months ago. This was a partially torn leaf and I tinkered with photoshop to rectify that natural defect. See if you can spot the area of change.

Friends

I took this picture in one of the quite villages, far away from the hustle and bustle of Bangalore. These kids were a happy lot, wanting to know about the cameras and how the pictures were taken. They were ready with a smile a posed for us without a question.

Eventhough this picture isn't one of the better ones I've taken in a while, it reminds me of one thing that's important to all of us... having friends! These kids remind me of what it means to have people who make you happy; people you can count on; people whose lifes you are a part of.

So hold close to you, the ones that you really care about and don't take them for granted. So that on the day when the sun isn't shining kindly on you, you'd still have a reason to smile, just as happily as these kids.
Dragonfly...

While I moved all around the twig on which this fellow was perched, trying to take a picture, our friend here didn't move a muscle. He seemed the least bit bothered by my presence.

This photo however reminds me that I need a macro lens.

Silhouette of The Bangalore Palace

I took this picture of The Bangalore Palace on a quite sunday evening. It seems the design for the castle was borrowed from the Windsor Castle.
The canvas above

This is how the sky had painted itself one evening. I know the shot doesn't do justice to the real thing.
Hmm...don't have a caption for this

Waiting for the waves...

This was just another experimental shot. Wanted to see how it'd be, if I were a boat, waiting for the waves, coming to greet me...
